Personality ;; Aspen is a strange case for a Venganza dog. Most of them are heartless, bitter or worse. But this pup is oddly friendly. He loves to fool about and play with the other youngsters. But there is a serious side to him, and he is a dedicated learner, and picks up tricks of the trade easily. Merely watching the older pack members spar has taught him alot already. Despite the confusing past, it hasn't affected him nearly as badly as it might of any other. He is very strong, and also brave. But this bravery may end up getting him into trouble in the future, as he will almost certainly take on an entire patrol by himself.

He loves to challenge older dogs to play fights. It is starting to become very clear from his appearance that he isn't just a mere dog. Now he's maturing, the characteristic large paws and narrow chest of a wolf are starting to show through. It is possibly because of this part wolf heritage that he got his aggressive side from. When pushed or aggravated, Aspen goes wild. He has a very short temper, and is liable to turn round and give you a piece of his mind at one wrong word. Because he has lost everything so far, he becomes very protective over those he cares about.


History ;; Aspen was born to a dog mother, whereas his father was a wolf. The two had met by chance, and were used in illegal dogfights. The two managed to break free and lived as loners before her litter was born early in the winter. Aspen's mother died giving birth as she lost so much blood. His father had no idea how to deal with the youngster, and so he took him into Venganza pack territory to be taken in by them. From the shrubs he'd watched silently as the patrol found the pup and then had returned to the pack with the small bundle of fur. At the leaders decision, the pup was allowed to live, and given to one of the females to care for. Aspen was very weak to begin with, and the dogs who looked after him took care for the first few weeks with him. But as soon as his eyes opened, it was clear he was able to fend for himself.

Surviving off water was hard for him, and the pack started feeding him on meat soon so as to give him what strength they could. But he pulled through the winter, and by the time the other pups were born in spring he was already walking around outside the den and annoying the older dogs. Once Aspen hit three months old, the leader told him how he had come to live amongst the pack, and that they didn't know who his parents were. It didn't come as much of a shock, he'd already guessed that he hadn't been born in the pack. With no mother or father, it had been fairly clear to him, even in the early days. Despite the missing heritage, the pup fought hard to earn the respect of those who still doubted him.

And he infact did so, merely five months old, the youngster chased a badger away that had broken into the pup den. It was this incident that caught alot of the older dogs interest, they hadn't expected this parentless youth to go anywhere. But already it was clear he was quite a brave character, and was a worthwhile addition to the pack. Now he is the correct age, Aspen is ready to be trained to fight and hunt so as he might help his pack and become a recognisable figure amongst the others.
