Nickname ;; Bane
Age ;; 7 Years
Gender ;; Male
Breed ;; Wolf
Sub-breed ;; Grey Wolf
Pack ;; ---
Rank ;; Loner
Personality ;; Not the happiest of creatures, Bane chooses to be by himself most of the time. He hates to be burdened with having to look after other animals. Being huge in size, smaller and weaker dogs would constantly flock to him in the hope of being protected. Bane may only have a decent conversation with one or two dogs a year, the rest of his time is spent quietly, watching the world waste away in front of him. He has been a loner for all of his life, and he intends now after his 'mistake' that it will remain that way. However, as that certain individual found, there can be a softer animal beneath his cold outer shell.
What is discovered is that Bane is, in fact, rather gentle and caring. Even a little protective at times. But it is so rare Bane would ever behave like this with someone, this side is almost non-existent. Going back to the aloof side of this wolf, he doesn't openly show much emotion. Quiet at the best of times, Bane thinks alot. But don't for one moment, think that because he may not answer back, he is weak or wont fight. Being the wild animal he is, Bane has a ferocious temper when you finally do drive him off the edge. Should you be so ''lucky'', it may be the last thing you ever do. And let us leave it at that.
History ;; Bane was born in a dingy basement, the boundaries of this small world were metal bars, which disabled the wolves from escaping. His mother and father had been bought by them from a backyard dealer, the wolves stolen from a national park. The men that owned the basement bred the wolves for illegal dog-fighting. They thought the appearance of a wolf in the ring would be enough to scare of opposition, and indeed it did. The men made thousands off the wolves. They required little training as such, but the men would often get drunk and beat the bars of the cage or even the dogs themselves. This was to acquire the aggressive characteristic they wanted, and they got it. At a very young age, Bane was subject to their methods, and it left him with a broken leg at merely two months old. As a result, he still limps slightly till this day.
Bane became imprinted with fear at the very sight of the men, unlike his parents who would growl and crash into the bars when they saw them. It was after weeks of this, Bane too began to snarl at them from his separate cage. At a year old, they boxed him up and took him to a fight, and this was the first time that Bane got a taste for other dogs blood. He was against another primed canine, but this one was a dog. It was much larger than Bane, but fear combined with a desire to attack drove the pup onwards to his new foe. Suffice to say, he tore the dog to shreds in a matter of seconds. It was dragged bleeding from the ring, its owners shocked how quickly it'd gone down. Bane was left panting in the enclosure, to be coaxed out with a hunk of meat. The starving pup fell exhausted into his cage that night, but realised this must be what the humans wanted. So, in order to lessen his and his family’s beatings, he took the decision to do what the humans wanted.
The fights went on, and his owners grew and grew in delight at how much money the young wolf was getting them. So much so that they decided to buy another wolf to have his pups. But when they bought the next wolf home, he would sit in the corner of the cage, farthest away from her, growling and even attacking. She got the same rigorous treatment as he did, she was beaten, chased and tormented to bring out her fury. But it was during these weeks, that Bane began to realise something. She was not a wolf at all. She was a dog. But the careless owners knew no different. As he watched them mistreat the sorry animal to achieve something that wasn't in her nature, he began to feel pity for the first time. He began to gnaw and charge the cage bars when the humans came to beat her, in doing so he took the beating himself for making them angry. After he returned from a fight, Bane lay in a pool of his own blood and sweat on the concrete floor. He felt a nudge at his shoulder and tried to growl but nothing came out. Beside Bane sat the dog, and she looked at him sadly.
She began to speak, to tell him all about herself. It was strange at first, that she had taken it upon herself to do so, but Bane listened. Her name was Carla, and she had used to be the pet of a lovely family. But then a man had robbed their hose and taken her with him. He was fascinated by the world of these humans she’d talked about, where they showed her kindness and affection. But he knew that was because she was a dog, and wolves could only expect hatred from man. Over the days he finally began to show Carla a little more friendliness, he would leave her his meat, so as to help her recover from the continuous beatings. But as particularly cold winter fell upon the land, the cold began to seep through into the basement. Bane’s mother’s cage became water logged and she began to get ill. He was unable to stand for it, he set to work on an escape, something none of them had ever tried before. He watched the humans as they threw food to the dogs, and watched their patterns over the next few days. And a few days later he struck.
The one male two-leg left as he did in the mornings, Bane heard the sound of the grumbling machine overhead that announced it. The other man walked into the basement and began opening the feed hatches to throw in the food. It was when he opened the door of Bane’s cage, and the wolf attacked. Bane tore and shredded at the two-leg, leaving him in a bleeding heap upon the floor. He proceeded to push the bolts of each door open along with Carla’s help, and then every other dog that he’d set free also helped. Then, the pack left silently, leaving nothing but bloody footprints. The wolves had never seen the house before and they had to pick and chose their way to their escape. Finally, one of them found an open window, and each individual squeezed out and into the gardens. By the time the other man got back it was dark, and the dogs were all long gone.
Bane lead them through the cities, avoiding two-legs as much as they could, until they finally reached the forests. Here, they split up again, the wolves returning home. But as Bane went to leave with his family, Carla asked if she might come with him. The wolf accepted, and so they travelled as a pack of four. As days went by, the two began to grow closer and closer, and strangely enough ended up mates when Bane’s parents managed to find their way back to the reserve. But the young male discovered pack life wasn’t something for him, there were rules, and his wild temper started to get the better of him. During an argument he badly injured one of the other males, and that wolf later died of the injuries. As a result he was exiled from his pack, and Carla followed him. She bore his pups, but died as a result. Unsure what to do with the creature, Bane left it in the territory of the Venganza pack, where it was soon picked up and taken away.
